Wistful Gaze

this drawing means so much to me, it's the first colour drawing i did of my favourite oc. it's not so much for the technical, like colouring and composition, but what it means is what i feel. and i love her character so much. looking at it takes me through so many different emotions

okay so, i would say i've been busy, which is partially true, but really i've not only been getting a lot of homework, but i've been playing and been fiendishly addicted to Dragon Age: Origins, phenominal game to cut it extremely short. i have been trying to surround myself with fantasy so that i can have something to focus on, rather than going on little tangents that are otherwise unfulfilling. i've also been working on a few abstracts my teacher has been pleased with, i have been getting some very nice feedback form my professors, but for some reason it doesn't quite hit home as much as getting feedback on dA...

i will suggest artists to you now, as i hope that you can obtain somewhat of the same inspiration that i have been recieving from these amazing artists:

Edmund dulac
Ted Nasmith
John Howe
John Bauer
Larry MacDougall (bridge-troll)

i want to shift my focus more to art than personal journals about feelings, though i wont bash that, but perhaps things on this site have been getting to be too much about one's self, and too little about art. though i know very well that art is about "you" and your heart, i would like to cut out things that aren't related to that, BUUUT you know me, i tend to change my mind on a very regular basis.

but if there's one thing i will not do, is stop obsessing with music, as it is so much a part of my art as well as I, so as the season of death approaches, why not try some music from Norway to help get in the mood. Emperor perhaps?

another great band for getting the feel of winter is an american doom metal band little to no-one knows of, Agalloch, they're not always metal, but they have a very nice cold wintry feeling in their songs, some instrumentals, that produce a fine atmosphere, one of the few metal bands that you can chill out to (no pun intended).

i have been indulging in black metal for a while now, as you may know i have been vehemently against it for reasonable reasons, but i have learned much about it, and have come to understand it (though not completely), i just thought i'd let you know so you don't see me as a hypocrite when i submit black metal inspired art.

about myself... lessee... well i love to draw, but almost (almost) above that i love stories, romantic, dark, modern fantasy combo is at the top of my list. what i almost love more than both of them is music, i am addicted to music i wake up and put music on, then go to bed listening to music, i owe a lot to my very favourite band Nightwish, that band has changed me in countless ways. though my favourite song is "The End Of This Chapter" by Sonata Arctica. i love metal the most of the genres i listen to, but i listen a lot of different stuff all the way to new age. music inspires me the most in drawing.

i'm pretty shy, dont talk much unless you speak to me. very calm, tend not to get too anything, though i am a big worrier.

i love dark things, nighttime etc. lol, my favourite animals are crows/ravens, long story. i love the night because it's peaceful, mysterious, and holds a certain magic i have yet to define, i love the night air. and of course i love vampires.

i love manga, i have a very small collection, of Kenshin/Vagabond and Naruto (yeah it doesn't show often) with a little VK.
i like to write everything down, for some reason i can't leave any idea wasted.

i love my watchers, they help and have helped me out when i needed it the most, and i have thanked them a lot for doing so. (thank you so much!)

well i hope you enjoy what you see, this is at times my only outlet, so i thank you for reading and taking a look for whatever reason.
